Scotland does truly claim the prize for the best golfing destination of the eastern Scotland and may be the entire Europe.
St Andrews is said to be the first where the first golf was played by the Europeans in the fifteenth century.

Best course at St Andrews is the Old course at St Andrews and it has 18 holes and is primarily a naturally designed golf course. St Andrews has the Royal and Ancient Golf Club

Carnoustie in Scotland has the Championship course to offer
Prestwick Golf Club is another one which is very good and it did host the British Open several times
The Alisa resort in Turnberry will host the 2009 British open

Ireland has its very beautiful golf course which is the Ballybunion Golf club in County Kerry of Ireland.

There are others like the Royal Dublin club and the Royal County Down . So if you are looking golf vacation packages to Ireland these are the places to be in.
Another great one is the Lahinch developed by Old Tom Morris and then there are the Dunes at Doobeg which is a new one in the links arena.

The premier golf destinations are in the UK and the Ireland and also you can definitely eschews away from the overbooked and overpriced golf courses and find the better ones some place nearby because UK and Ireland are home to about 2500 golf courses which may be owned by families, clubs or even the hotels.

So even if you are doing business meetings or if you are on a family trip the best place for golfing in Europe is UK and Ireland.

You should always pre book and also if you need have the cheap way to golf then use the golfing passport. You will definitely need the handicap certificates as well as letters of introduction should you want to get into some premier resorts and clubs.
